Here are some other losses due to newspaper declines: starting material for the woodstove and campfires; packing material (like, when one has to move and wrap up all those valuable plates, bowls, glassware and dust-collectors); weed barriers for gardens (this ties in with the fact that more papers are using colored inks, which are not good for the garden); bedding material for small mammals.
